Mar 12:1 Then Jesus began to talk to them in parables: “Someone planted a vineyard. He put a fence around it, dug a vat, and built a tower. Then he leased it to tenant farmers and went traveling abroad.
Mar 12:2 When it was time to harvest he sent a slave to them to collect it.
Mar 12:3 But the tenants beat him up and sent him away empty-handed.
Mar 12:4 So he sent another slave, and they hit him on the head and humiliated him.
Mar 12:5 He sent yet another slave, whom they killed, and so on. The tenants beat some and killed others.
Mar 12:6 “Now the owner still had one dear son, and he sent him last to them and thought, ‘They will respect my son!’
Mar 12:7 But the tenants said to themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let’s kill him and the inheritance will go to us!’
Mar 12:8 So they took him and killed him, then threw him out of the vineyard.
Mar 12:9 So what will the owner do? He will come and wipe out the tenants, and lease the vineyard to others.
Mar 12:10 “Have you not read this scripture? ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;
Mar 12:11 this is the Master’s doing, and wonderful to see!’ ”
Mar 12:12 Then they intended to arrest him but didn’t because of the crowd, since they knew the parable was about them. So they left him alone and went away.
Mar 12:13 Then they sent some of the Pharisees and Herodians to entrap him by something he might say:
Mar 12:14 “Teacher, we know that you are genuine and don’t care what others think about you. You don’t judge by appearances but truly teach the way of God. So are we permitted to pay the poll tax to Caesar, or not?
Mar 12:15 Should we pay or not pay?” But Jesus, knowing they were pedants, said to them, “Why do you test me? Bring me a coin so I can examine it.”
Mar 12:16 So they brought him one and he asked them, “Whose image and inscription is this?” “Caesar’s,” they replied.
Mar 12:17 So Jesus said to them, “Repay Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and repay God what belongs to God!” And they were stumped.
Mar 12:18 Now the Sadducees, who don’t believe in the resurrection, came to him and asked,
Mar 12:19 “Teacher, Moses wrote for us that if someone’s brother dies and leaves a widow behind but no children, that he should marry the widow and produce children for his brother.
Mar 12:20 Suppose there were seven brothers; the first marries and then dies childless.
Mar 12:21 So the second brother marries her, and he too dies childless. Likewise with the third,
Mar 12:22 and so on through all seven brothers. Finally the woman dies too.
Mar 12:23 When they rise up at the resurrection, whose wife will she be, since she had been married to all of them?”
Mar 12:24 And Jesus said to them, “You are mistaken; don’t you know the scriptures or the power of God?
Mar 12:25 For when they rise from the dead they do not marry; they are like the angels in heaven.
Mar 12:26 And regarding the dead being raised, haven’t you read in the book of Moses about the burning bush and how God said to him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’?
Mar 12:27 He is not the God of the dead but of the living; you are badly mistaken!”
Mar 12:28 One of the scripture scholars came along and heard them debating, and he saw that Jesus had answered them well. So he asked him, “What is the greatest commandment of all?”
Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered, “The greatest is, ‘Listen, Israel! The Master our God is the only one.
Mar 12:30 You must love the Master your God with your whole heart, soul, mind, and strength.’
Mar 12:31 The second is very similar: ‘You must love your neighbor as you love yourself.’ There are no greater commandments than these.”
Mar 12:32 “Well said, Teacher!” the scripture scholar replied. “You are correct in saying that there is one God and no other.
Mar 12:33 To love him with one’s whole heart, understanding, and strength, and to love one’s neighbor as oneself, is far better than all the burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
Mar 12:34 When Jesus saw how astutely he had answered, he said to him, “You are not far from the kingdom of God.” And no one dared to ask him any more questions.
Mar 12:35 Jesus went on teaching in the temple compound: “How is it that the scripture scholars say that the Anointed is the descendant of David?
Mar 12:36 For David himself said through the Holy Spirit, ‘The Master said to my Master, “Sit here at my right until I place your enemies under your feet.”’
Mar 12:37 Since David himself calls him ‘master’, how can he be his descendant?” Many in the crowd were delighted with what Jesus said.
Mar 12:38 In another teaching he said, “Observe the scripture scholars; they like to walk around in their robes, to be greeted in the marketplaces,
Mar 12:39 to have the best seats in the synagogues, and to have the most prominent places at banquets.
Mar 12:40 Yet they prey upon widows to take their property, and they like to show off with their lengthy prayers. They will endure extreme judgment!”
Mar 12:41 Then Jesus sat down facing the treasury, and he watched how the crowd threw money into it. Many rich people threw in a lot,
Mar 12:42 but one destitute widow threw in two tiny coins worth only a fraction of a day’s wages.
Mar 12:43 He called his disciples to himself and said, “I tell you truly that this destitute widow has thrown a greater sum into the treasury than all the others.
Mar 12:44 For they gave out of their excess, but she gave out of what she needed— everything she had to live on.”

Mar 12:1 και ηρξατο αυτοις εν παραβολαις λαλειν αμπελωνα ανθρωπος εφυτευσεν και περιεθηκεν φραγμον και ωρυξεν ὑποληνιον και ωκοδομησεν πυργον και εξεδετο αυτον γεωργοις και απεδημησεν
Mar 12:2 και απεστειλεν προς τους γεωργους τω καιρω δουλον ἱνα παρα των γεωργων λαβη απο των καρπων του αμπελωνος
Mar 12:3 και λαβοντες αυτον εδειραν και απεστειλαν κενον
Mar 12:4 και παλιν απεστειλεν προς αυτους αλλον δουλον κακεινον εκεφαλιωσαν και ητιμασαν
Mar 12:5 και αλλον απεστειλεν κακεινον απεκτειναν και πολλους αλλους οὑς μεν δεροντες οὑς δε αποκτεννοντες
Mar 12:6 ετι ἑνα ειχεν υἱον αγαπητον απεστειλεν αυτον εσχατον προς αυτους λεγων ὁτι εντραπησονται τον υἱον μου
Mar 12:7 εκεινοι δε οἱ γεωργοι προς ἑαυτους ειπαν ὁτι οὑτος εστιν ὁ κληρονομος δευτε αποκτεινωμεν αυτον και ἡμων εσται ἡ κληρονομια
Mar 12:8 και λαβοντες απεκτειναν αυτον και εξεβαλον αυτον εξω του αμπελωνος
Mar 12:9 τι ουν ποιησει ὁ κυριος του αμπελωνος ελευσεται και απολεσει τους γεωργους και δωσει τον αμπελωνα αλλοις
Mar 12:10 ουδε την γραφην ταυτην ανεγνωτε λιθον ὁν απεδοκιμασαν οἱ οικοδομουντες οὑτος εγενηθη εις κεφαλην γωνιας
Mar 12:11 παρα κυριου εγενετο αὑτη και εστιν θαυμαστη εν οφθαλμοις ἡμων
Mar 12:12 και εζητουν αυτον κρατησαι και εφοβηθησαν τον οχλον εγνωσαν γαρ ὁτι προς αυτους την παραβολην ειπεν και αφεντες αυτον απηλθον
Mar 12:13 και αποστελλουσιν προς αυτον τινας των φαρισαιων και των ἡρωδιανων ἱνα αυτον αγρευσωσιν λογω
Mar 12:14 και ελθοντες λεγουσιν αυτω διδασκαλε οιδαμεν ὁτι αληθης ει και ου μελει σοι περι ουδενος ου γαρ βλεπεις εις προσωπον ανθρωπων αλλ᾽ επ᾽ αληθειας την ὁδον του θεου διδασκεις εξεστιν δουναι κηνσον καισαρι η ου δωμεν η μη δωμεν
Mar 12:15 ὁ δε ειδως αυτων την ὑποκρισιν ειπεν αυτοις τι με πειραζετε φερετε μοι δηναριον ἱνα ιδω
Mar 12:16 οἱ δε ηνεγκαν και λεγει αυτοις τινος ἡ εικων αὑτη και ἡ επιγραφη οἱ δε ειπαν αυτω καισαρος
Mar 12:17 ὁ δε ιησους ειπεν αυτοις τα καισαρος αποδοτε καισαρι και τα του θεου τω θεω και εξεθαυμαζον επ᾽ αυτω
Mar 12:18 και ερχονται σαδδουκαιοι προς αυτον οἱτινες λεγουσιν αναστασιν μη ειναι και επηρωτων αυτον λεγοντες
Mar 12:19 διδασκαλε μωϋσης εγραψεν ἡμιν ὁτι εαν τινος αδελφος αποθανη και καταλιπη γυναικα και μη αφη τεκνον ἱνα λαβη ὁ αδελφος αυτου την γυναικα και εξαναστηση σπερμα τω αδελφω αυτου
Mar 12:20 ἑπτα αδελφοι ησαν και ὁ πρωτος ελαβεν γυναικα και αποθνησκων ουκ αφηκεν σπερμα
Mar 12:21 και ὁ δευτερος ελαβεν αυτην και απεθανεν μη καταλιπων σπερμα και ὁ τριτος ὡσαυτως
Mar 12:22 και οἱ ἑπτα ουκ αφηκαν σπερμα εσχατον παντων και ἡ γυνη απεθανεν
Mar 12:23 εν τη αναστασει ὁταν αναστωσιν τινος αυτων εσται γυνη οἱ γαρ ἑπτα εσχον. αυτην γυναικα
Mar 12:24 εφη αυτοις ὁ ιησους ου δια τουτο πλανασθε μη ειδοτες τας γραφας μηδε την δυναμιν του θεου
Mar 12:25 ὁταν γαρ εκ νεκρων αναστωσιν ουτε γαμουσιν ουτε γαμιζονται αλλ᾽ εισιν ὡς αγγελοι εν τοις ουρανοις
Mar 12:26 περι δε των νεκρων ὁτι εγειρονται ουκ ανεγνωτε εν τη βιβλω μωϋσεως επι του βατου πως ειπεν αυτω ὁ θεος λεγων εγω ὁ θεος αβρααμ και ὁ θεος ισαακ και ὁ θεος ιακωβ
Mar 12:27 ουκ εστιν θεος νεκρων αλλα ζωντων πολυ πλανασθε
Mar 12:28 και προσελθων εἱς των γραμματεων ακουσας αυτων συζητουντων ιδων ὁτι καλως απεκριθη αυτοις επηρωτησεν αυτον ποια εστιν εντολη πρωτη παντων
Mar 12:29 απεκριθη ὁ ιησους ὁτι πρωτη εστιν ακουε ισραηλ κυριος ὁ θεος ἡμων κυριος εἱς εστιν
Mar 12:30 και αγαπησεις κυριον τον θεον σου εξ ὁλης της καρδιας σου και εξ ὁλης της ψυχης σου και εξ ὁλης της διανοιας σου και εξ ὁλης της ισχυος σου
Mar 12:31 δευτερα αὑτη αγαπησεις τον πλησιον σου ὡς σεαυτον μειζων τουτων αλλη εντολη ουκ εστιν
Mar 12:32 και ειπεν αυτω ὁ γραμματευς καλως διδασκαλε επ᾽ αληθειας ειπες ὁτι εἱς εστιν και ουκ εστιν αλλος πλην αυτου
Mar 12:33 και το αγαπαν αυτον εξ ὁλης της καρδιας και εξ ὁλης της συνεσεως και εξ ὁλης της ισχυος και το αγαπαν τον πλησιον ὡς ἑαυτον περισσοτερον εστιν παντων των ὁλοκαυτωματων και θυσιων
Mar 12:34 και ὁ ιησους ιδων αυτον ὁτι νουνεχως απεκριθη ειπεν αυτω ου μακραν ει απο της βασιλειας του θεου και ουδεις ουκετι ετολμα αυτον επερωτησαι
Mar 12:35 και αποκριθεις ὁ ιησους ελεγεν διδασκων εν τω ἱερω πως λεγουσιν οἱ γραμματεις ὁτι ὁ χριστος υἱος δαυιδ εστιν
Mar 12:36 αυτος δαυιδ ειπεν εν τω πνευματι τω ἁγιω ειπεν κυριος τω κυριω μου καθου εκ δεξιων μου ἑως αν θω τους εχθρους σου ὑποκατω των ποδων σου
Mar 12:37 αυτος δαυιδ λεγει αυτον κυριον και ποθεν αυτου εστιν υἱος και ὁ πολυς οχλος ηκουεν αυτου ἡδεως
Mar 12:38 και εν τη διδαχη αυτου ελεγεν βλεπετε απο των γραμματεων των θελοντων εν στολαις περιπατειν και ασπασμους εν ταις αγοραις
Mar 12:39 και πρωτοκαθεδριας εν ταις συναγωγαις και πρωτοκλισιας εν τοις δειπνοις
Mar 12:40 οἱ κατεσθιοντες τας οικιας των χηρων και προφασει μακρα προσευχομενοι οὑτοι λημψονται περισσοτερον κριμα
Mar 12:41 και καθισας κατεναντι του γαζοφυλακιου εθεωρει πως ὁ οχλος βαλλει χαλκον εις το γαζοφυλακιον και πολλοι πλουσιοι εβαλλον πολλα
Mar 12:42 και ελθουσα μια χηρα πτωχη εβαλεν λεπτα δυο ὁ εστιν κοδραντης
Mar 12:43 και προσκαλεσαμενος τους μαθητας αυτου ειπεν αυτοις αμην λεγω ὑμιν ὁτι ἡ χηρα αὑτη ἡ πτωχη πλειον παντων εβαλεν των βαλλοντων εις το γαζοφυλακιον
Mar 12:44 παντες γαρ εκ του περισσευοντος αυτοις εβαλον αὑτη δε εκ της ὑστερησεως αυτης παντα ὁσα ειχεν εβαλεν ὁλον τον βιον αυτης
