1Th 5:1 Sisters and brothers, we really don’t need to write to you about times and seasons,
1Th 5:2 because you already know that the Day of the Master comes like a thief in the night.
1Th 5:3 When they say “peace and safety,” sudden ruin will come upon them like labor pains and they will not escape.
1Th 5:4 But you, on the other hand, are not in the dark, that this Day should surprise you like a thief.
1Th 5:5 You are all of the light and the daytime, not the darkness and the night.
1Th 5:6 So don’t doze off like the rest but watch and be sensible.
1Th 5:7 For those who doze off sleep at night, and the drunks get drunk at night;
1Th 5:8 but we are of the day and must be sensible, putting on the torso armor of faith and love, and the helmet of the hope of salvation.
1Th 5:9 Because God did not appoint us to suffer his anger but to acquire salvation by means of our Master Jesus the Anointed
1Th 5:10 who died for our sakes, so that whether we are alert or dozing off we will live together with him.
1Th 5:11 So comfort each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.
1Th 5:12 Now we are asking you, brothers and sisters, to notice those who labor among you, and who provide for you and protect you and warn you concerning the Master.
1Th 5:13 Esteem them highly in love for their work. Be at peace among yourselves.
1Th 5:14 Sisters and brothers, we plead with you to warn the disorderly, encourage the disillusioned, shield the weak, and be patient with everyone.
1Th 5:15 See to it that people don’t seek revenge but always chase after what is good for one and all.
1Th 5:16 Always be joyful;
1Th 5:17 pray continually;
1Th 5:18 be thankful in everything, because this is God’s will for you as followers of Anointed Jesus.
1Th 5:19 Do not squelch the Spirit;
1Th 5:20 do not scorn prophecies
1Th 5:21 but test everything and keep the best.
1Th 5:22 Stay far from even the slightest hint of evil.
1Th 5:23 Now may the God of Peace himself make you completely holy and free in body, soul, and spirit. May you be kept blameless in the presence of our Master Jesus the Anointed.
1Th 5:24 The One who calls you is faithful to do this.
1Th 5:25 Brothers and sisters, pray for us too.
1Th 5:26 Greet the other believers warmly.
1Th 5:27 I hold you to the solemn responsibility of reading this letter to all the sisters and brothers.
1Th 5:28 May the favor of our Master Jesus the Anointed be with you all.

1Th 5:1 περι δε των χρονων και των καιρων αδελφοι ου χρειαν εχετε ὑμιν γραφεσθαι
1Th 5:2 αυτοι γαρ ακριβως οιδατε ὁτι ἡ ἡμερα κυριου ὡς κλεπτης εν νυκτι οὑτως ερχεται
1Th 5:3 ὁταν λεγωσιν ειρηνη και ασφαλεια τοτε αιφνιδιος αυτοις εφισταται ολεθρος ὡσπερ ἡ ωδιν τη εν γαστρι εχουση και ου μη εκφυγωσιν
1Th 5:4 ὑμεις δε αδελφοι ουκ εστε εν σκοτει ἱνα ἡ ἡμερα ὑμας ὡς κλεπτης καταλαβη
1Th 5:5 παντες γαρ ὑμεις υἱοι φωτος εστε και υἱοι ἡμερας ουκ εσμεν νυκτος ουδε σκοτους
1Th 5:6 αρα ουν μη καθευδωμεν ὡς οἱ λοιποι αλλα γρηγορωμεν και νηφωμεν
1Th 5:7 οἱ γαρ καθευδοντες νυκτος καθευδουσιν και οἱ μεθυσκομενοι νυκτος μεθυουσιν
1Th 5:8 ὑμεις δε ἡμερας οντες νηφωμεν ενδυσαμενοι θωρακα πιστεως και αγαπης και περικεφαλαιαν ελπιδα σωτηριας
1Th 5:9 ὁτι ουκ εθετο ἡμας ὁ θεος εις οργην αλλα εις περιποιησιν σωτηριας δια του κυριου ἡμων ιησου χριστου
1Th 5:10 του αποθανοντος ὑπερ ἡμων ἱνα ειτε γρηγορωμεν ειτε καθευδωμεν ἁμα συν αυτω ζησωμεν
1Th 5:11 διο παρακαλειτε αλληλους και οικοδομειτε εἱς τον ἑνα καθως και ποιειτε
1Th 5:12 ερωτωμεν δε ὑμας αδελφοι ειδεναι τους κοπιωντας εν ὑμιν και προϊσταμενους ὑμων εν κυριω και νουθετουντας ὑμας
1Th 5:13 και ἡγεισθαι αυτους ὑπερεκπερισσου εν αγαπη δια το εργον αυτων ειρηνευετε εν ἑαυτοις
1Th 5:14 παρακαλουμεν δε ὑμας αδελφοι νουθετειτε τους ατακτους παραμυθεισθε τους ολιγοψυχους αντεχεσθε των ασθενων μακροθυμειτε προς παντας
1Th 5:15 ὁρατε μη τις κακον αντι κακου τινι αποδω αλλα παντοτε το αγαθον διωκετε και εις αλληλους και εις παντας
1Th 5:16 παντοτε χαιρετε
1Th 5:17 αδιαλειπτως προσευχεσθε
1Th 5:18 εν παντι ευχαριστειτε τουτο γαρ θελημα θεου εν χριστω ιησου εις ὑμας
1Th 5:19 το πνευμα μη σβεννυτε
1Th 5:20 προφητειας μη εξουθενειτε
1Th 5:21 παντα δε δοκιμαζετε το καλον κατεχετε
1Th 5:22 απο παντος ειδους πονηρου απεχεσθε
1Th 5:23 αυτος δε ὁ θεος της ειρηνης ἁγιασαι ὑμας ὁλοτελεις και ὁλοκληρον ὑμων το πνευμα και ἡ ψυχη και το σωμα αμεμπτως εν τη παρουσια του κυριου ἡμων ιησου χριστου τηρηθειη
1Th 5:24 πιστος ὁ καλων ὑμας ὁς και ποιησει
1Th 5:25 αδελφοι προσευχεσθε και περι ἡμων
1Th 5:26 ασπασασθε τους αδελφους παντας εν φιληματι ἁγιω
1Th 5:27 ενορκιζω ὑμας τον κυριον αναγνωσθηναι την επιστολην πασιν τοις αδελφοις
1Th 5:28 ἡ χαρις του κυριου ἡμων ιησου χριστου μεθ᾽ ὑμων
