1Th 4:1 As for the rest of you, brothers and sisters, we plead with you on behalf of the Master Jesus, that you continue to practice what we told you about pleasing God, until it overflows in you.
1Th 4:2 You are well aware of the responsibilities we gave you through the Master Jesus;
1Th 4:3 what God wants from you is holiness. You are to stay away from promiscuity,
1Th 4:4 being aware that each of you must get control over every aspect of your life so that you are holy and honorable,
1Th 4:5 instead of being driven by passion like the non-Judeans who don’t know God.
1Th 4:6 And don’t take advantage of others in this matter, because the Master is the Avenger; we told you about all this before and certify it as true.
1Th 4:7 Since God does not call us to impurity but holy living,
1Th 4:8 it surely follows that the one who rejects this is not rejecting people but God, who gives his Holy Spirit to you.
1Th 4:9 Now we have no need to write to you about love for the believers there, for you yourselves are instructed in this by God.
1Th 4:10 Not only that, but you also have this love toward all the believers in Macedonia. Yet we must plead with you, sisters and brothers, to reach even higher.
1Th 4:11 Strive for a quiet life, minding your own business and doing your own work, just as we directed you.
1Th 4:12 Then you will have a good reputation with outsiders and will lack nothing.
1Th 4:13 Now brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be ignorant about those who have died, so that you do not grieve like the rest who have no hope.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and then rose, so also will God raise the dead through Jesus.
1Th 4:15 We tell you this by the Word of the Master, that we who are alive when the Master appears will not be in line in front of those who have died.
1Th 4:16 For the Master himself will descend from heaven with the loud command of the Ruling Messenger and the trumpet of God. Those who were united with the Anointed when they died will rise first,
1Th 4:17 and then we who are alive will be snatched away at the same time with them in the clouds, to meet the Master in the air. Then we will always be together with the Master.
1Th 4:18 So comfort each other with these words.

1Th 4:1 λοιπον ουν αδελφοι ερωτωμεν ὑμας και παρακαλουμεν εν κυριω ιησου ἱνα καθως παρελαβετε παρ᾽ ἡμων το πως δει ὑμας περιπατειν και αρεσκειν θεω καθως και περιπατειτε ἱνα περισσευητε μαλλον
1Th 4:2 οιδατε γαρ τινας παραγγελιας εδωκαμεν ὑμιν δια του κυριου ιησου
1Th 4:3 τουτο γαρ εστιν θελημα του θεου ὁ ἁγιασμος ὑμων απεχεσθαι ὑμας απο της πορνειας
1Th 4:4 ειδεναι ἑκαστον ὑμων το ἑαυτου σκευος κτασθαι εν ἁγιασμω και τιμη
1Th 4:5 μη εν παθει επιθυμιας καθαπερ και τα εθνη τα μη ειδοτα τον θεον
1Th 4:6 το μη ὑπερβαινειν και πλεονεκτειν εν τω πραγματι τον αδελφον αυτου διοτι εκδικος κυριος περι παντων τουτων καθως και προειπαμεν ὑμιν και διεμαρτυραμεθα
1Th 4:7 ου γαρ εκαλεσεν ἡμας ὁ θεος επι ακαθαρσια αλλ᾽ εν ἁγιασμω
1Th 4:8 τοιγαρουν ὁ αθετων ουκ ανθρωπον αθετει αλλα τον θεον τον και διδοντα το πνευμα αυτου το ἁγιον εις ὑμας
1Th 4:9 περι δε της φιλαδελφιας ου χρειαν εχετε γραφειν ὑμιν αυτοι γαρ ὑμεις θεοδιδακτοι εστε εις το αγαπαν αλληλους
1Th 4:10 και γαρ ποιειτε αυτο εις παντας τους αδελφους τους εν ὁλη τη μακεδονια παρακαλουμεν δε ὑμας αδελφοι περισσευειν μαλλον
1Th 4:11 και φιλοτιμεισθαι ἡσυχαζειν και πρασσειν τα ιδια και εργαζεσθαι ταις ιδιαις χερσιν ὑμων καθως ὑμιν παρηγγειλαμεν
1Th 4:12 ἱνα περιπατητε ευσχημονως προς τους εξω και μηδενος χρειαν εχητε
1Th 4:13 ου θελομεν δε ὑμας αγνοειν αδελφοι περι των κεκοιμημενων ἱνα μη λυπησθε καθως και οἱ λοιποι οἱ μη εχοντες ελπιδα
1Th 4:14 ει. γαρ πιστευομεν ὁτι ιησους απεθανεν και ανεστη οὑτως και ὁ θεος τους κοιμηθεντας δια του ιησου αξει συν αυτω
1Th 4:15 τουτο γαρ ὑμιν λεγομεν εν λογω κυριου ὁτι ἡμεις οἱ ζωντες οἱ περιλειπομενοι εις την παρουσιαν του κυριου ου μη φθασωμεν τους κοιμηθεντας
1Th 4:16 ὁτι αυτος ὁ κυριος εν κελευσματι εν φωνη αρχαγγελου και εν σαλπιγγι θεου καταβησεται απ᾽ ουρανου και οἱ νεκροι εν χριστω αναστησονται πρωτον
1Th 4:17 επειτα ἡμεις οἱ ζωντες οἱ περιλειπομενοι ἁμα συν αυτοις ἁρπαγησομεθα εν νεφελαις εις απαντησιν του κυριου εις αερα και οὑτως παντοτε συν κυριω εσομεθα
1Th 4:18 ὡστε παρακαλειτε αλληλους εν τοις λογοις τουτοις
