2 Thessalonians

1:1Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy,

To the Congregation in Thessalonica, united with God the Father and Master Jesus the Anointed:

1:2Favor and peace to you from God our Father and Master Jesus the Anointed!

1:3It is fitting that we should always be thanking God for you, sisters and brothers, seeing that your faith is flourishing and your love for each other is increasing.1:4We are so proud of you among the Congregations of God, because of your endurance and faith through your persecutions and the suffering you bear.1:5This displays the perfect justice of God, that you were considered worthy of the kingdom of God for which you suffer,1:6because he will repay those who are oppressing you.1:7You who are being oppressed, along with us, will be relieved when Master Jesus is revealed from heaven with his powerful Messengers.

1:8He will deal out a blazing fire of vengeance to those who don’t know God and who do not heed the Gospel of our Master Jesus.1:9They will have earned endless ruin from the presence of the Master and from his majestic strength,1:10when he comes on that Day to be honored by his holy ones and held in awe by all the believers who accepted our testimony.1:11We always pray for you about this, so that you are counted worthy of our God’s calling and fulfill every benefit of goodness and powerful work of faith.1:12Then the Name of our Master Jesus will be honored in you, and you in him, according to the favor of our God and Master Jesus the Anointed.
